You’re Invited to the Richmond Region—
Historic, Hip and Easy to Love

Elegant architecture, rich history, lush gardens and vibrant culture are among the charms that make the Richmond Region dear to those who live here and surprisingly wonderful to those who have just arrived. Richmond is fun and accessible, offering big city action and Southern hospitality.

In the Richmond Region you can explore more than 400 years of history—the second successful English settlement, the former capital of the Confederacy, the Harlem of the South. Richmond is also rich in historic homes and famous folk. The John Marshall House, Edgar Allan Poe Museum, Maggie Walker National Historic Site, Scotchtown and St. John’s Church—all tell the stories of distinguished people.

You may be surprised by what else is here. There are trendy areas of boutiques and cafes and upscale outdoor fashion parks. Nightlife hotspots range from Martini bars to corner pubs. The local music scene spans coffeehouses to historic theaters. Thrill seekers can take their pick from whitewater rafting, high-speed roller coasters, NASCAR or rock climbing. Catch a glimpse of a bald eagle, take in Tiffany windows or listen to the inspiring words of Patrick Henry—the choices are limitless.

The Richmond Region is easy to get to and easy to navigate. Come see for yourself why the Richmond Region is easy to love.
